If a normal person swerved in front of me and got out of the car. Windows up, doors locked, call the police and tell them someone is trying to car jack you. Give them the rego on the other car too!

Why any different unless they are wearing police vest & can show enough ID.

They have to identify themselves clearly.

I've been accosted by an off duty detective (in a Ford Territory) at a set of lights in East Perth after I apparently cut across a semi trailer coming out of the tunnel. I saw arms waving to my left and ignored it as I thought it was just some random hero. He then got out, tapped on my passenger window and showed his badge.
