Looking at those photos makes me wonder how no one died! Such a waste of a nice car.

I just got back from a trip home and lunch. I literally walked 200 mtrs to have a look at the tree. He was coming down hill east on Morley Drive. I reckon he hit the anchors for the red light and just gote a hydroplane into the tree.

I know the Fire Sgt who had to drag the occupants out. He dropped in and asked if I knew the car, apparently went to overtake a car going through amber lights and ran out of talent.

^^ I did handbrake turns and single peggers in my 71 Beetle as often as I could as a 17 year old.. thought I was indestructible... until I drove off an 80 metre cliff and landed upside down in a tree... not so tough then. Good point though..
