Dyno numbers have always been a pretty subjective measure. It's a comparitive device to assist in tuning. Calibration and the type of dyno can greatly affect the results.
US figures have been claimed as inflated over figures used here too. Perhaps their horses are smaller. |
a MY99 had 160kw @ flywheel.
Average MY99 made 92 - 95kw @ wheels. that means 200awkw is roughly double 160kw at the flywheel. Which is 320fwkw (or 430fwhp) But the mods that people are doing to get 200awkw with are not what is required to get over 400fwhp from a EJ20. If that makes sense. Them numbers just dont make sense. |
Read this artical.
This WRX has full exhaust, a bigger turbo and tuning. And it makes 148kw @ wheels and runs 13.11 @ 175kph. A stock MY99 these days probably would pull 150awkw on the dyno now.... APS WRX Media Reviews |
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ahem... No
What would a stock GC8 pull these days then on a modern dyno. Back in 2000 a stock GC8 would pull 92 - 95awkw. A V6 sti, would pull 125awkw. So anyone recently dyno a close to stock GC8 to get an idea of a modern power figure? |
Its the fluride in the fuel!

Its poisonous qualities make it akin to e100! |
Boost. 5-7years ago people would tell you anything over 1.2 bar will explode your engine for sure. Meanwhile people in the back ground were quietly running 2.5-3 bar in stock engines and getting big numbers
