Hi,

Does any one know if the 2006 WRX came with stock HID headlights?

I bought the car recently completely stock and it came with HID headlights. However, reading online, it seems that only the STi's came with HID's, not the WRX's.

I am trying to find out if these headlights are STi ones which were swapped or infact real WRX ones.

Apparently STi headlights have different connectors and need some small modifications to function properly.

Is there any way to check?

pretty sure wrx and sti have hid from factory.. only the non turbo impreza's that dont

I wasn't sure as everyone goes on about HID conversion on WRX's .

I'm planning to buy a spare set to do some playing around with but all the HID ones i find are from a STI

If your bumper has the little extra plastic squares on it, then you had HID as Standard.

You have me intrigued. Where are the plastic squares that you speak about?

Wow thank you! I would never in have picked that.
My front bumper does have the little squares so looks like they are stock, thankfully.
The squarea are about 3x3cm in size and directly below the head light on either side.
