Default cut and polish

Hi folks, can I have your recommendations please? We've decided to keep our old commodore instead of take the $1000 offered as a trade in on a new car for the wife. Unfortunately the paint work has gone off so badly its attracting unwanted attention. Does anyone know a place that can work some magic in this regard? We don't care if its like new, just want to get it respectable but as its a second car we must keep the budget down as much as possible. Thanks for your help.

I'm guessing it's a vt and the clearcoat is peeling off like plastic?

Sand it down and pressure pack paint it yourself?

As above, if the clear is gone.. its gone. You could polish it to bring back some gloss.. to have it be dull again in a few weeks.

Its a VY and yep I reckon clear coat well and truly gone. Not in a position to do any work myself. Whats my options? Wreckers to swap out some panels for same colour? Anyone know of someone that can respray some panels for us?

Spend $3000 on a cheap paint job and sell the car for market value of $4,000 - $4,500?

Totally worth the effort.

Yeah, that's what we thought too. Might head down to a few wreckers and see if we can swap out a few panels.

Decided not to sell it. Will keep it as a second car. At least we know its history.

GX-Rex what will pics achieve? See how bad it is? I'll take some if you want to see.

Thanks for advice folks.
