Standard WRX STI without boxer rumble = MASSIVE WIN!

long over due/about fuckin time!

they have come like that out of the factory in Japan for 15 years.

(my03 onwards JDM STI)
JDM_STYLE, STI325V6 and joshrx like this.

One of those has my name on it !

I would point out that the 2015 WRX(25.3s) is faster than the 2014 STi(25.4s) in the figure 8 while the 2015 STi(24.9s) aces both of them and the EVO(25.1s).

I thought the WRX had the FA engine and the STi keeps the current EJ257? Or is that just for the North American market???

No, we both Get the EJ257, not sure if they have changed it to equal length headers tho, probably not tho as the yanks mostly like the rumble too.

So no one knows if the 15 sti comes with equal or unequal length? Surely someone has driven one and can say?

Well the American market still gets unequal length headers in the STi, so we probably do too, tho the sound clips I have heard for the car don't support this.

Edit - my bad, was looking at an FA WRX clip, 2015 WRX still has rumble

unequal's on the sti, and apparently the 6spd is better than the wrx 6spd somehow.

The WRX comes with the new FA engine.

STI still same EJ257 but tuned a bit better for low and mid torque.

Gearbox from motorauthority.. "The gearboxes for both models might look the same at a very quick glance, but the WRX gets a cable-shift linkage for its lighter-duty six-speed transmission while the STI gets a heavier-duty gearbox as well as a more precise (and expensive) close-ratio unit with parallel-rod shift linkage—and, in the Anniversary Edition cars, a short-shift kit."
