Matto20v can you link the relevant legislation to this? Genuinely curious.
Sure! No problems at all. Criminal Investiation Act 2006. Section 146, subsection (e) (ii) 146. Things relevant to offence, grounds for seizing If this Act provides that an officer may seize a thing that is relevant to an offence the officer may do so only if the officer reasonably suspects one or more of the following — (a) that the thing is property that has been stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained; (b) that the thing may be seized under another written law; (c) that possession of the thing at that time and place by the person in possession of it is unlawful; (d) that the thing may be forfeited to the State or the Crown; (e) that it is necessary to seize the thing for one or more of the following purposes — (i) to prevent it from being concealed, disturbed or lost; (ii) to preserve its evidentiary value; (iii) to do a forensic examination on it; (iv) to prevent it from being used in the commission of another offence. Weren't they only done for causing excessive noise. One of the alleged claims they didn't exceed the speed limit and they aren't even going to lose their drivers licenses. Seems like the media is once again whipping nothing into a huge issue.
I still don't understand how I can get blind drunk drive home get caught and pick my car up the next morning yet I do a skid in a deserted car park and it's gone for 28 days. |

Right there, not tomorrow or the next day, but there and then. Same as NSW/VIC If you drive your car once you are suspened for pissy driving, and get caught, the car gets impounded for 28 days... |

If you drive your car once you are suspened for pissy driving, and get caught, the car gets impounded for 28 days...
how many people get done for under 0.08 and can drive the next day, tens of thousands a year with nothing but a slap on the wrist and how does a suspended license stop anyone ? I've been pulled over 2 times in the last 5 years and would suggest its pretty easy to get away with driving without a license. |
On this topic, saw a dark grey stock 86 driving home last night on Stock Road in the pissing rain doing at least 110+ past me in the 80 zone.. must just be the car that makes people drive fast. Turns out they also cannot get traction off a set of lights.

Too many assumptions in that statement. Come back with some actual figures. |
They co-operated and handed the SD card over to show they were not being reckless. And they really had no evidence as they were from a distance. But trying to do the right things has back fired. After Viewing. They still have not attended court yet so well have to see the outcome. Wrong place at the Wrong time really
