10 Second Hawkeye.

Well I've achieved what I set out to do.

10.9 @ 131mph (211kph)

This is in a full weight GD weighing roughly 1495 kg + me at 130Kg on Two year old Pirrelli Road tyres.

Did 7 runs last week and 7 runs this week and drove it there and back. Only issue is the gearbox showing its age causing me a few selection issues on a couple of runs.

Will upload the video soon.

Also managed several 11.3's too. so all in all a good evening.

Its a 10.xxx. but only just haha. Scraped in by the whiskers on your chin. 2/100ths.

dazdavies 17-03-2016 11:02 AM

I think it's fairly obvious It'll do a low to mid ten with a gearbox refresh and better tyres but I've no intention of chasing that. I've done what I set out to do with it. 0-131mph in 10.9 seconds I'll take that.

Jacob92 17-03-2016 11:15 AM

Well done daz 10 s full trim street car drive in drive home good shit

dazdavies 17-03-2016 11:24 AM

DZENCI 17-03-2016 12:20 PM

Well done Daz

Remembering back where it all started from set goals and now accomplishing them is a big achievement. Best part I like is the engine takes what ever you throw at it. It's a good indication when things are put right that it can do what you want it to do as you've done last night getting into 10's.

Rslib72 17-03-2016 01:48 PM

Well done mate followed your journey from the start it seemed like the car was cursed for a while but it's come through (very fast) at the end...

It may be comments like this as to why the membership numbers are not higher.

XT43 19-03-2016 09:27 PM

Lol, if people can't handle comments like that they would have cry wanked themselves to sleep a few years ago.

Kremer930 19-03-2016 09:34 PM

I rest my point.

XT43 19-03-2016 10:07 PM

That the people making those comments must have got a conscience and left the building?

dazdavies 22-03-2016 03:55 PM

So out of interest I got the car weighed yesterday. 1480KG (+-10kg) with the fuel light on and without me in it.

So with a bit of fuel and me weighing 130kg the car weighs around 1630KG. (approx 3600lbs)

My GC8 weighed 1231 without me and that managed 10.90 with 430whp.

My real target is to beat that with a 10.89 or quicker which I haven't done yet. There will be more visits to the strip until that's achieved.

Given the 10.97 i did its easily doable I just have to get my shit together and drive it better.

Bram 22-03-2016 04:00 PM

Wow. Awd wieght.

You paid 25 for a wiegh bridge? Why not just drive through one of the free ones at a tip or metal recycler yard etc?

JRecardo 22-03-2016 04:05 PM

Wow, that's not a light car by any stretch. 10s in a 1.5t car that takes the kids to school in the morning. Impressive

It was the nearest one to me and they certify the weight.

you definitely lowball people hard on jcpwa don't you?

Bram 24-03-2016 07:25 AM

What. Im just saying Daz could have driven to SMRC on the end of bannister rd canningvale for example, and gone on the weigh bridge there. Then turn around and drive over the 2nd wiegh bridge on the way out to check against the first for accuracy. And it would have cost nothing, and probably been closer to home. Just sayin'

dazdavies 24-03-2016 10:17 AM

It's only $25 I think I can stretch to that, just.
