Default ppg gear set fitted

Picked my car up today from Xspeed after having a ppg 1-4 gear set fitted
to the box

the wine from the box will take a bit of getting use to but is great to have
a gear box that i can trust not to break after breaking 4 standard boxes

i have had a lot of work done at Xspeed lately and can say they do a very
good job not just small jobs but a full engine conversion and gb job

I paid $4300 just for the gearset 1-4 straight cut. $300 each for selector forks, then you have all bearings, seals & standard fifth gear blah blah blah.
The above price is plus gst, but they take 10% off if you are a workshop of somesort.

I got gearset from perFOURmance motorsport over east and then fitted down here.

i like the wine, but probably a 1-3 box would be better, i find myself cruising in 4th a fair bit too.

how does one break four gear boxes?

Straight cuts will whine
Synchro is less likely to whine as much
You can go 1-2 straight cut, 3-4 synchro (only PPG will do this)
You can't got 1-3 modded, and keep 4th standard.
You have to change 1-2, and/or 3-4

You mean 1-2 straight cut 3-4 helical cut....unless its dog...all the gears are selected by synchromesh
