STI quicker than Evo 9 apparently(hmmmm!)

They attribute most of that to the STi's tyres though. Those Bridgestones have proved to be the decider in a lot of tests involving the two cars.

This is true on the track - would it make that much diff in a straight line?

Nah, straight line should be pretty much down to the tester I would say. Pretty hard to launch both cars equally. And I found that with straight line battles, it all happens in the first 60ft.
