"The noise level of the modified (exhaust) system must not exceed the noise level of the manufacturer’s original system by a noticeable amount".

Im tempted to print these out and laminate them to keep in the car..

That way i can show em to the coppa's if they pull me over to show me which rules or rule i void.

Bit surprise that they are not specific about modded exhaust not exceeding a "noticeable" level from stock. eg. decibels.

People could always play around with words you know.

"No part of a vehicle or accessories (except flexible mud flaps) shall project below the lower edge of a wheel rim"

does this mean the side skirts cant be lower than 45mm off the ground? i mean the profile on the tyres is 45mm after that is the lower rim?

"The fitment of so called "plus one" and "plus two" and tyres is acceptable providing: etc etc"

Ok....but....

"In any event, rim width shall not exceed 177.8 mm (7") unless specified by the manufacturer as standard equipment for the vehicle in question. No increase in rim width is permitted for vehicles fitted with original equipment rims in excess of 177.8 mm (7") width. "

So, given wrx wheels are already 7" wide, going 17x7.5 or 18x7.5 will break DPI rules and thus void insurance?

The profile is a ratio based on the width of the tyre .. not 45mm. Besides, if your sideskirts are only 4cm off the ground, you'll be getting bakkascrapes

Question

the point of this thread guys from my point of view was for people to determine the line between acceptable, unacceptable and inspectable modifications that require a permit. not necessarilly bitch at how they may inconveinience your poor choice of modifications

we are fortunate enough in this state to be given some freedoms to modify our cars, we get it much better then states like SA or other countries.
