Brakes for stock rotors/calipers
What do you recommend for replacement pads for the stock WRX calipers?
How much should i pay? |

Ferrodo DS3000 pads, DBA4000/5000 rotors.
expect to pay $280ish for pads (stock 4 pots) and $450-800 for the rotors. i dont recommend the DS2500's in my experience they take too long to warm up and they will heat soak. DS3000's on the other hand work from cold and get better as they get hotter, i havnt yet been able to heat-soak them on the street, sure rotor wear is a little more aggressive, but you'll get a years worth of race quality brakes out of a set of rotors. DBA4k rotors are very durable, yet i'd probably recommend the 2-piece 5000's for the less amount of heat-soak into the hub and bearings (due to the aluminium hats) they are also cheaper to renew the rotors.

Thanks a lot for the info/advice
I wasn't really thinking about changing my rotors yet, but i probably will in the near future. When you said that the 2500s will heatsoak, did you mean they do it badly/quickly or that eventually they will? |

he means do about 5 big stops from 150 to 50 in a row and you will have not much left in the way of brakes.
I'm going to give the DS3000's a go next time round. As for the question, stace was on the mark. i intially got DBA650 rotors and TS2000 pads. Good bight, good wear, will fade after 5 big stops. Dont mess about, budget 1500.
