Default New Tune 30th Oct (Autronic)

Hey guys, going down to perth for the Rally Australia and want to get a retune as well. Have spoken to a couple of workshops about what I want, just want to know what the Reps are like on them. Basically I spoke to Ted at Speedworks and Alex at RMS - are either of them good Autronic Tuners?

Both shops have some bad stories about them, which workshop doesn't? I'm going with speedworks for my tuning, i went and spoke to the tuner sean and i'm happy with what i've seen him do on other cars and the impression i got from talking to him.

Just out of curiosity, does Speedworks lock ECUs or anything capable of locking ?

I thought it wasn't true but I have a friend whose done their HKS EBC with speedworks and apparently when getting his ECU installed and tuned, the tuner couldn't touch his boost settings because it was locked.

If so, doesn't that mean once you get anything done at speedworks, you've lost all your rights to get your car work done at other places ?

Just clarifying to see if such a myth is true.

as far as i know, sean and AJ at speedworks do not lock ecu's, not unless they were previously locked by another tuner, or requested at the time of the tune by the owner.

Cheer's guys, I saw that thread about who tunes what, but I was more after a reputation. Some workshops generally fare better than others, and generally there is one that excel's more often than not. Just curious as to what peoples experiences were/are like with these 2 workshops. Preferably real world stuff like what was your tune like?

I asked both workshops for the ECU not to be locked, and both were happy to oblige. We had an A/C fault on my car a few weeks back, and as the ECU is currently locked it was difficult to perform any sort of diagnostic work.
