who sells motul gearbox oil in perth?

I went looking for Motul Gear 300 oil for the gearbox today and no-one stocks it. (super crap autos, repco, Auto 1).

Auto 1 sold redline smurf blood for $133 a bottle, but Im not keen on redline even though the bottle says it lasts for up to 400,000 kilometers...

anyone know what subaru use? (the dealerships not the rally team)

cheers
Jamie

warex 13-08-2005 07:43 PM

mate I could be wrong but I'm sure I saw Motul gearbox oil at Repco in Morley on Friday when I was checking out the Motul range. Give em a call.

slappy 13-08-2005 07:54 PM

Nope went in to morley repco this morning and the guy said that he might be able to order it from queensland. They only sell castrol, penzoil etc gearbox oils.

Bakks 13-08-2005 08:01 PM

Tenagah do.

slappy 13-08-2005 08:57 PM

hmm, i cant really get down to wangara during the week, are they open saturdays?

aDe 13-08-2005 10:17 PM

I wouldn't leave redline in for 400,000km unless you like a gelatin copy of the inside of your gearbox :P

mingin 14-08-2005 10:28 AM

dealerships use whatever they can buy normally... most common being castrol.....

slappy 14-08-2005 10:37 AM

Cheers for the help. I might try one castrol or penziol oils. they only cost $19 -$40 bucks so if its crap I'll drain and go find some motul.

The only competition driving I do is trying to get through the northbridge tunnel on some mornings.

aDe 14-08-2005 01:07 PM

What's other gear oil available from common store? coz like supercheap only carry normal castrol / penrite stuff for manual, can we really put 80w-90w for the gearbox coz the book says 75w-90w. cheers

Jimmy S 14-08-2005 01:12 PM

We sell the entire Motul range of oils at Motoquipe in Floreat!!... including gearbox oils... and race brake fluid!!!!
9285 8288!!

Sethor 14-08-2005 03:24 PM

slappy 14-08-2005 08:16 PM

blackmy03 15-08-2005 09:23 AM

Mate... we dont have internet access at work... i only say to call cos you'll find out sooner... if your happy to wait till tomorrow night then fine... but i would have thought an immediate answer would be better customer service...
If you are serious about purchasing this product but you dont want to call up... PM me and ill get a price and let you know tomorrow night... Dont go dissing the service if your not willing to make a phone call!!

blackmy03 15-08-2005 07:14 PM

Mat 15-08-2005 07:18 PM

Thats a bit harsh i think... Some places simply dont have net access. No reason to have a go at him.

And im 100% phone call is far quicker than a PM ;)

Andy 15-08-2005 08:00 PM

Cheers
Jimmy

blackmy03 25-08-2005 12:13 PM

it seems that everyone can get motul's stuffs on their shelfs now :)

TENAGAH 25-08-2005 01:38 PM

Basically when Motul Automotive oils started in Perth about 2yrs ago the plan was to limit resellers/distributors to selected specialised workshops & 1-2 national chains.

I far as i'm aware the national chains in Perth are Motorquipe and more recently REPCO. Tenagah have been involved with Motul automotive products since its been in WA. Recently Works Auto in Bentley have been given resell status and another workshop in the southern suburbs. Basically a workshop north, central & south.

Don't get me wrong i'm not in bed with the importers and don't know everything thats doing on. But what i've told you, is what i've been told.

The Motul people don't want it to be a "cheap" oil that can be sold at your local corner deli. When your competing against other quality oils like Fuchs, ELF & even Agip you need to maintain a high profile.

I hope that clears a few things up.

Cheers
Abdus :)
