they are all garret based. im guessing the avo400 series are GT28 or GT25 equivelent. Since the AVo450 is a GT3037

Tode the 3037 is a HKS turbo. I think you mean GT30. :D
sounds good joe, but I dont believe in getting something for nothing...

we talking about an TD06 20G ey?
Well Pete, a VF34 costs about 1300 less than an AVO400, and we all know how good they are...so low price doesnt mean shit
I think physics challenges the one turbo fits all principle. :)
Variable vane turbocharging will change this....

My uncles Audi A6 TDi spools from about 1100rpm and makes 450nm at 1400rpm, and max power at 4000rpm...never have I seen a diesel with such a spread of power, as most will punch down low and drop off fairly quick.

HKS are experimenting with these, and very soon we'll have turbos that can make power down low, and up top....(at a price)

your right, a 34 does seem to be one of the best value for money turbos out there atm.

Has anyone had any first hand experiance with any HKS or BLITZ turbos?

paticularly the GT-RS, the 2835 and the BLITZ KA-440??

They are all pretty pricey (3500-4500 kit price) but are suppose to be worth it.

Stace,

what turbs are you running now??? If it is still the VF35, the AVO400 will spool considerably slower. As the guys have rightly said, they are Garret GT28XX based turbos. They wont have the hard hit of the VF's but will take over mid range to top end. Slightly higher flow than a VF22 I think..
