whats the hype over these turbos lately? i see lots of people want them, yet hardley any dyno sheets for results?
can someone tell me whether these are turbos worth considering or just another also-ran with the other bolt-ons on the market?

From what I've read and heard.

Not a bad turbo, but for around a grand less, you can get something similar..

I am off to the Vic WRX Club dyno day in a couple of weeks. Will be running the RA with the VF34 with the usual beeejeesus boosted out of it. Hopefully someone will turn up running an AVO400 given that we are at AVO and will be using the AVO dyno. Lets hope they keep the playing field level. (Not suggesting that they wouldn't.)

Like you Stace I am keen to see what all the hype is about. I am looking into them at the moment. Finally a guy I know over here is fitting one to his version 6 STI so I will get a chance to drive one and see some dyno numbers as I think he will be getting it tuned at STI by the same guy as me on the same dyno. So keen to see the numbers and get the old seat of the pants dyno out and run it on the street to see how driveable it is.

But my feeling at the moment is that they dont offer much more than the VF34 for the $1000 premium. Maybe 10-20kw more, but doughier response low to mid range. Usual story. There is always a sacrifice somwhere for more power. I think physics challenges the one turbo fits all principle.

I will keep you updated but my gut feel would be that it would be like going from a VF35 to a VF34

thanks blaise,

i'd like to see what there capable of, less lag and more torque are my aim, i dont mind sacrificing a bit of hp to make up for response, anyhow, curious to know if they are related to the IHI turbos in anyway or are they a complete fresh design with the right flanges?
