Exhaust for MYO6
Hi all. Got my first rex about 6 months ago. Have kept it stock so far but i want that lovely rex exhaust note. Do i have to get a complete sports system or can i just get a sports muffler to replace the factory one...any advice would be appreciated.

Depends ..
If you just want the note, but not do much, then just get a diff back muffler. If you want the note + a marginal performance increase, get a Cat-Back System. Lastly, and what i recommend you do (do it once, do it properly) is a full Turbo back system, which will give you a noticeable performance increase and a good platform to continue mods later on. I had mine done for $2200, fully installed, noticed a big difference. Note on the image below, your model does not have the cat in the up-pipe. Last edited by RichX; 12-12-2006 at 11:04 PM. |

Cobia, before everyone starts posting their opinions on exhausts and costs on here I strongly suggest you look at the info on this website.
http://www.msengineering.com.au/exhaustsystems.html Michael S is a bit of a guru with exhaust design and testing, and has proven results with a Targa Tasmania winning STi S202. You get what you pay for with an exhaust. The dump pipe is really a critical component of modification. Do it right the first time. To reduce costs you can just buy the dump pipe and fabricate locally. A 3 inch dump/mid pipe decreasing to a 2.5 Inch Diff back exhaust as opposed to 3 inch all the way through has proven results as well. Do a search on Rexnet.com.au and check out Hi Tech Mufflers for the 2.5 Inch diff back. http://www.hitechmufflers.com.au/home.html More reading: http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...pic=53429&st=0 http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...howtopic=58831 J Last edited by WRXTASY; 12-12-2006 at 11:31 PM. |
