I dunno, when i bought my car it was 5 years old and the only problems i've had in 4 years is a dead clutch, two split rad hoses, an oil leak coming from a non genuine cam seal (Perth subaru workshop taking shortcuts ) and a alarm dieing! Usual wear and tear stuff

Not to bad in 175k kms of solid thrashing!

But congrats on the 07! Its def worth selling the GC8 with a td04. Even if you dont put the 34 on the new car, you'd still recoup some costs!

Matt, I've had a split rad hose and my car hasnt even done 40k km!!!!

As for the MY07, the VF34 will be so torquey on that motor. Doesnt matter if it dies up top a bit, it'll make ridiculous torque and response down low!!

VF35 is pretty similar to Sti VF43 I think, with a tune and zorst it will be a bitch, as Joe said it might run out of puff up top but 3500rpm to 5000rpm will pull like a bitch.
Good cheap mod IMO, bang it on with a zorst and tune for around 2500 grand all up = cheap / quick reliable car.

The MY06/07 WRX is a huge improvement, lots of problems ironed out and refined, you should really enjoy it.

Those who say that the GC WRX is better than a GD WRX, in regards to handling, NVH, comfort, etc, are living in the past....
