Dude don't run different dimension rims front and rear. You have an AWD car, your centre diff will hate you!!

Depends which Liberty you get too... MY06 Spec B has 18" rims, but need to check brake caliper clearance as well as guards.

right now im using my friend's liberty's spare (its 205/55/R16) pursuits on the front left, is this advisable? the rest are standard my01 rims, think its 215/45/17s

i probably wont drive it much til i get my rim back, but just want to make sure that its OK to drive when i want to drive it.

thanks.

Thumbs up

Running different size rims is not always the problem it may seem with an AWD WRX and the LSD centre diff......

It all depends on the Overall Diameter of the Tyre.

Let me explain.....

Original Setup 215/45/R17 Rims and Tyres off a MY01 WRX
Overall Diameter: 24.61 in 625.09 mm

Replacement setup 205/55/R16 off Liberty
Overall Diameter: 24.87 in 631.69 mm

A differance of 6.5mm which is sweet bugger all. Especially when you consider a WRX will wear out its front tyres far quicker than the rears and most of us are probably driving around with that that amount of front wear anyway.

You will be fine, even running only one replacement rim on the front as your 01 WRX has an Open front Diff.

Just make sure the internal part of the replacement spare rim is not rubbing against your brake caliper if your getting noises. Also check the nuts again.
