Totally agree joe, makes the car sound more like a racecar..

Brett, whats different between your car and Jans?

Following you guys on the way home the other night, i noticed a distinct difference in the exhaust note. Jans is a lot cleaner sounding on easy accel. where as yours sounds rough.

I get chubby everytime i hear both your cars on WOT though...

I doubt the throttle position has anything to do with having a chub around those 2.

Don't quote me, but I think the difference is the IX gets variable valve timing where as the VIII didn't.

I think you'll notice that between Brett and Jan's car, the one that sounds "rougher" is actually a flaccid sphincter releasing its own noise.

Whoever is the "giver" won't make the same sound

Mivec and different cams (ie more agressive in the MR) will be the diff in sound (and power/torque) between the two cars Blair...

ive just got the trust pe2 catback on mine atm. sounds fairly stock at idle (from inside the car) but yeah sounds good on WOT. I assume it will get slightly louder once I put in the front/dump pipe and get tune. Also fitting an intake this wknd so should help a bit with the noise level. can't say i prefer it over the wrx noise tho..

what difference do the cams make noise wise?
