Question Questions, questions - WRX Hatch; pros & cons please...

Hi all,
I currently drive a liberty and am looking at getting a 2nd car in the near future.
I like the idea of a WRX and reckon the hatch will suit my needs more than the sedan (as I already have one of those and it can be a PITA at times).

So, I thought I'd come and ask some questions here. (I'm an ozlib member, but they aren't being too helpful :P)

I don't like the bug-eye purely on cosmetic reasons.
I probably won't want to spend more than $20k. Cheaper the better TBH.

I think I'd like to start stock, unless there is a car out there already modded that hasn't been thrashed.

I'm after your tips and pieces of advice please!

Cheers

Craig

Sounds like you will be chasing a my98-my00 GC8 wagon. They are heavier but can fit alot more when it comes to logistics.

I find mine awesome for drive ins. reverse in with back seats folded flat and its like a double bed. I had a thin mattress which fitted nice and snug in there and put some pillows at back of front seats. Nothing better...

Fuck stock. All you need for this is a later model front bar or a lip.

If you can get over the looks, the bugeye wagon is a world ahead of the GC8 wagon.

As a rule of thumb, buy the latest year that you can afford...you can make bug-eye wagons look extremely awesome with some cosmetic tweaks

isn't Confusion selling his blue bug eye wagon? Not sure how much tho... I'll let you do the search!

I agree with Joe, and its not because we are bug eye owners that we say this, but it is worlds ahead of the my99-00 wagon. But at the end of the day, its your choice I guess!
