It's only by experimentation that these methods were found in the first place.

Fair call Chad. I know what you're saying.
The "flak" i may or may not cop in regards to personalising my car isn't a concern to me, I'm more than happy to hear peoples opinion on what I'm doing.
What I dont understand is the way ideas voiced around here sometimes get slammed so hard. How did we all find out that an ej207, with a vf34 adapted with a P20 exhaust housing, some cams, and nice unequal length headers would be such a good setup? Because someone decided to give it a shot one day. Obviously research was done and the project was deamed viable, they gave it a shot, and hey, it worked.
Who know's [WAT4NOW] may have spent a lot of time investigating whether a 13b turbo would work well on an ej.
The majority of people around here (and in the world in general) are probably working for someone that one day thought outside of the box and slapped the proverbial 13b turbo on a boxer.

and you continue adding sweet f all to threads...my opinion, unless you have bottomless pockets the avenue for experimentation seems much less appealing, especially when there are SO many off the shelf products that can do the job cheaper and probably better, leaving money to spend on other enhancements.

Dial down the boost there turbo.

The idea of trying to fit a triangle into a square hole may not be appealing to you but others welcome the challenge.

This is just like old skool hot rodding from back in the days before you could buy everything as a bolt on. Modify or fabricate what you had or what you could get your hands on. There's a lot of satisfaction to be had by creating something different to the norm, especially after being told it can't be done.
Or maybe I'm just not up with the times & remembering how it used to be?
