Hey Poncha. I do remember meeting you on the MRT forums along time ago, back in 2006. Along with Moman and his son that had a green gc8. Good to see you have gone for a solid base. 2.5ltr torque is a gem! Means you can use a bigger turbo :P

Totally agree..just washed the car yesterday, gave the rims a decent going over, and today the dust is already back!

I'm still getting to know my '06 STI too... Just got told today that within the next 3 months I'll need to get some slotted rotors so maybe some more things to go on at the same time, let us know how it goes!

And I have a Turbosmart BOV on at the moment too, don't mind it at all hehe
Cheers, I guess we know how each other feels pretty well
Interesting, as the car already came with the rotors spotted/slotted, which was odd as I did think that they didn't come like that from factory.
Who and why did you get told that? My brakes:

Another question for all, I've been told by the previous owner, and I called up Graeme at MMS, and they said that the whining/buzzing in 3rd to 6th gear (mainly road-speed dependent) is normal? Referred to as "period noise"?
What have people's experiences been of this?

Cheers

Hey mate, yeah were good times on MRT. We have come a ways from there though
lol I dunno about a bigger turbo, she's got enough oomph for me for now But the driveability of the 2.5L is certainly welcome.

The stock rotors are def not drilled or slotted. Do not buy replacement rotors from Subaru or you will get stung badly.

Go aftermarket for rotors and pads.

Wow those rims look quite badly kurbed!

Also Dave. why would the bov make it richer? Once your on throttle it is closed like a standard bov. Just on close of throttle it vents causing slight richness for a few seconds. But then once on throttle its back to normal.

Yeah, pretty badly curbed all round (but at least I'm not worried to curb it now )
