Howdy
Been lurking for a while mostly in the 'for sale' sections trying to pick up some extra's for my recently acquired WRX.
I have a black 02 WRX bugeye which is in mint condition (<45,000km). I'm not a tuner but keeping an eye on the forums for sensible minor mods. On the list of things I'm keeping and eye out for / pending being done: - Fog light covers, I've done allot of internet reading but haven't found any decent looking aftermarket ones or a reasonably priced set of OEM ones surely there must be a decent aftermarket set out there? - Some braces struts etc to try and dial down a bit the under steer that plagues WRX's - Remove the BOV and replace with the stock plumb back I obtained from the original owner. - Find STI gold rims - Potentially a mild ECU remap ( the car already has a HKS exhaust and Genie dump pipe)? Not 100% on the re-map yet ( tempted not to fiddle and be content with the reliability which ensues ) i'll let it bubble some more and get a few more opinions before making any decisions. |

i just emailed rob (ultrex) about fog light covers for bugeyes, he can get both the mesh and solid ones in, but it would probs take a while.
so if you're interested i suggest you give him a pm or email him through the ultrex site: http://www.ultrex.com.au/ or i found these on ebay if it were me i cbf waiting for US stuff though welcome btw |

I'm definitely interested in the solid ones. I've read finding the brackets such that they fit on the OEM brackets without having to actually take out the lights is tricky?
If they are a straight copy of the OEM ones I'm definitely in, I will email Ultrex now. I would gladly buy the ones off ebay but the inherit risk in them arriving and being useless piece of plastic for $100 bothers me I would prefer to see them in person. Did they happen to give you an idea of price ? and any idea's of what the kit they can obtain consists of? |

that's the reason i suggested ultrex first yeah it is tricky to fit the solid ones in the OEM brackets without taking the lights out but i'm pretty sure it can be done, i don't know much about doing it though :< and i think rob's getting quotes on the price because he said he'd get back to me, i asked him for prices and pictures etc. |

From memory, the OEM ones for later model STI's weren't that expensive... Around $140 or something. Surely that's not too expensive. Good thing is, your car being black, is an STI colour, so you can just buy some black ones that won't need to be painted or anything.

I called Subaru Osbourne park about the OEM ones and yes i think they were about $140 but the guys quoted me that for each cover meaning $280 which I think is a bit much for a small cosmetic product.
I'll try again at another dealer unless the guy got it wrong. Cheers |

On a side note I don't seem to be able to post anything outside of the introduction forum.
Is there a post count I need to reach in introductions or someone I need to email to make that happen? |
