if you are chasing heaps of power you have chosen the wrong car.
Most of my mates push bigger number than mine (300hubs) yet i am still faster than them around the track recently Collie raceway.
300 is FAST enough imo you might want to work on better/more suspension/handling parts and more seat time.
Couldn't have said it any better.

I think Joe (BALISTC) mentioned doing headers. If you are dead set on 300Hp atw, do an Up-pipe + headers+Retune (EL or bigger UEL headers). I doubt you will feel the difference (apart from perhaps better response/spool).

Up-pipe +retune alone should get you there abouts.

Out of interest how much torque did your car chuck out? I can only assume 370-400+Nm or thereabouts with a 2.5L + VF52

No up-pipe swap is required on anything beyond MY01/02, because the stock up-pipe on MY03 onwards is catless.. including the MY08+.

get out and drive the thing, you don't need a million hp to enjoy the car on the street and on the track. Ballistic's post is what you want to do, should get you too 300hp and should have a lot of torque and will be a bucket load of fun on the street/track.
yeah Chad, get out and drive it!
maybe you can explain what you have to do to hopefully get 400hp.

Back to the original post, won't be long before it breaks the ringlands and it has to be rebuilt anyway, rebuilding the bottom end doesn't increase the power, it makes it more reliable with some more power.
Ask anyone who has 400hp+ how many km they got before something needs to be repaired....
