Default WRX 99 evoclubspec8 (Problem Please help)

Hi guys I am Kirk and I am from Sydney. Recently I have owed my WRX 99 for 5 years now and didn't have a problem since last year Dec. I have installed a FMIC so my car would look good. After installing that my car lagged. Until it was not safe anymore to drive. I got it towed to my house due to xmas break workshops were close. I phoned the MRT they said to me that my car needs tune up when installing FMIC. When they check the car they found that my airflow meter was faulty. I told them that airflow meter is a year old only but they still replace it because that whats the problem they said. They change the afm and still lag.. cost me money. they advice me to tune it. 13 hundred. then today i had a call from then informing me that they tuned the car and still run the same nothing was change. and the air flow meter again was faulty. I am so pissed off because I am paying 13hundred for nothing. I am getting my car away from them. can anyone suggest something? or have experienced the same? I am thinking the problem is the modified pod filter. please any pro help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

I will buy into this troll post...
Oiled filter, K&N maybe?
If so, it would be easy to lose an air flow meter or two if you over oiled it.
From memory, the air flow meter is a hot wire item, and if you get oil on it from aerosol oil particles from your filter, then it cooks, reporting incorrect air flows to the ECU and your car goes into limp mode or worse.

Have you voiced your concerns to your tuner?

What other mods does the car have?

99 clubspec 8 huh...

Your car "looks nice" but you where too nieve to look into the effects a front mount has on a car which i assume has the stock turbo. next time do your research and dont blame MRT because your where stupid.

I can only assume someone from Syd is posting here because rexnet told you to piss off with the way you carry on

The icing on the cake would be if Dr Rock's suspicions are correct and he has infact stuffed his own afm and blamed mrt

Perth-WRX can't really advise on tuners on the east coast.

Also, all the lag you are feeling is because of your good looking FMIC. Air flow meters don't cause lag.
