ok gents here we go, didnt get as much done over the weekend as anticipated. mainly due to the car was initially going ot be a street car so i kept the AC and original loom etc.

however due to the change of scope, i had to do some more stripping i.e. AC, loom, original brake components.

also i had to re-clean the shed as i hadnt been in there for 2 months and yeah other people had been working in there and covered it in all their crap.

so i found my car as per the below

and due to me loosing my tool box keys - i had to engage my brother to "pick the lock"

engine bay as it was sunday morning

engine bay at end of the day

interior at the end of the day -

assortment of parts recieved from thailand, the drive shaft and half shafts have some really good welding, but the others i will require my maltese mate the welder to go over and get it suitable for the application

OK, so if anyone can guess what engine is going in the datsun below - i will do a build thread on it. its a car my brother "the locksmith" is building as a dedicated burnout car - Robin doesnt count

plan for next weekend is to score some dry ice to make short work of the sound deadening in the car, pressure wash the engine bay and interior. tidy up the rust in the engine bay and check for structural integrity, install Z3 steering rack and if i dont have to work saturday i will do you guys a teaser of a Red Top SR20DET installed in the bay i bought for mock up purposes.

Cheers,

answer to previous questions

i couldnt find a 2 door in good enough condition for reasonable money, where as this 4 door was in mint condition all the panels where straight, some minor rusting in the usual locations it had a log book with all the services :| a doctor in albany originally bought it 1990 march. ran like a dream until i tried to blow up the original engine. picked it up for 2k where as the 2 doors people wanted like 7k for a POS. although i admit the 2 door would have been way cooler.

Rob all assistance is appreciated - fair efforts compensated with free beer.

i wonder if they got the conversion kit from the same company - as they also did 2jz's conversions etc. are they building the car for circuit or drag?

this is good for a giggle, i posted on a yankee time attack forum back in the day, when i was considering using a F20C from a S2000. finally checked it again just to see if anyone had commented - 90% recomending some form of V8 lol yip ei ki ay mo farkers
