Welcome, lots of info on here bout everything you want to know, 2000 - 2004 there's three models last of the gc8(2000) bugeye(2001-2002) then the peanut (2003-2005) alot of every model on here, most popular out of the three is the gc8 then bugeye, it all comes down to personal preference. As u could pick up a gc8 sti for around 20000 just depends how much your looking to spend.

Welcome!

Peanuts (03-05) easily the best, but I am biased Set your budget and then work with that, try and stretch to an STi if you can, will save you $$$ of modding down the line when you get hooked (which you will).

If you're looking for a WRX, get either a GC8 or peanut. If you're going for a STI, any would do providing they fit your budget.

Thanks for the welcomings. Lol, no just an eager wrx enthusiast. But my budget is probably going to be around 12k? Im trying to get my hands on an sti, so far i only managed to find ones for 14k... Btw is the wrx a efficient/reliable car? Whats the average on fuel fortnightly? Also ive heard they have fragile gear boxes? If so whatis the usual gear box break down mileage? Appreciate any help.

12k your gonna want to look at gc8, and in my n/a impreza(regret buying) I use two tanks a fortnight but I do alot of city driving but then if I drive highways I get about 700-800 kms per tank. Is this your first car or not? There's a gc8 wrx forsale in a caryard in rockingham.
