Question electric boost controller & turbo boost solenoid help!

Hi guys! Can any help me I was thinking of getting the lastest hks electric boost controller for my gc8 im running a tomei arms 8265 turbo under the hood.

Im kind of confused with the boost solenoid and what its role is! If I get the hks ebc do I need to the upgrade my turbo boost solenoid aswell? Or does the hks ebc have a boost solenoid built in? I want to be able control the boost levels safely and not kill my engine....the previous owner use a manual boost controller and a boost solenoid with the stock turbo but since ive upgraded the turbo, im thinking I need to get a ebc..so can anybody tell what I need to do ? Do I have to get a aftermarket boost solenoid with the hks electric boost controller aswell? Or just get the hks ebc on its own? And does the hks ebc make my rexy perform better than the manual boost controller?

hks kit will include everything you need to control boost.

The best advice I can give you based on this post is - do not install and set it up by yourself.

best to get the ecu tuned for additional fuel & timing adjustment, not as simple as just chucking a boost controller on there, well worth the cost to get the most out of your new turbo

as teejay said, will end in tears if you just chuck it on and smash 1.5bar

Like Teejay said, the kit will include its own solenoid and all hoses and wiring required.
Its definitely easier to set it up properly if you have someone that knows what they're doing to help you.
A dyno is the safest place to set it up as air fuel ratios can be checked while the boost is adjusted.
Factory boost cut is 16psi on your car so you wont be able to go above that without replacing your ECU with an aftermarket one, as I don't think your model can be flash tuned if thats your car in your avatar. Or you can fit a boost cut defender, which also needs to be set up properly.

Ok so I dont need the boost solenoid, the hks ebc has it aleady. Im definetly get a pro to install and tune it, cause my rex wont go ova 16psi that sux but yeah has to be done I guess...what would be the best aftermarket ecu on the market to get? I was thinking of the power fc, what do you recomend? Will I get in trouble with da cops with hand controller will I?

Able to get receipts from the previous owner and back trace to the mechanics/shops involved?

I've had zero hassles from the boys in blue in regards to hand controller and mines mounted in plain sight. They have asked me about it before and I just explained what it did. In the end they just thought it was kinda cool.
