Welcome Wells.

The best thing you could possibly do is buy a non-turbo Impreza – say a 1997 RX... in red... with crappy paint – and then spend tens of thousands of dollars modifying it to bring it up to the level of a standard WRX STi.

Do that and find out how long your 'warm welcome' lasts!

But seriously, it's good to have a youngin' who seems to have his head screwed on. We need more Lachies on this forum...

The funny thing is '97 to '99 is my favourite shape.
But yeah ill definatly have to get a non turbo on my P's I cant afford to get pulled and done because im driving with a turbo..

Red impreza's *Shudders*
I dont think ill spend that much on it as i know that eventually im gonna get a WRX STI

But ill do little tweaks nothing major though it would just be a big waste of money if its a Non turbo and ill end up regretting it.

I wouldnt say i have my head screwed on To be honest with you Haha
But nah in all seriousness for a 16 year old im pretty good.
Maybe a silly question but what do you mean by

Yeah he could do, just ask less questions that can be found out with a search on google.

Just use the search tool as often as possible and you'll have no problems.

For the record, I was kidding about doing up an RX. You're right: it's a waste of money when you compare it to buying WRX outright.

If you save hard, in a few years you'll be able to pick up an '08 WRX for about $10k. Nobody likes them!!

I'm only plugged in if it's something I enjoy and cars are something I could spend hours on

I'm glad you were joking.. If anyone said that in all seriousness I think I would lose all faith in them...
Only thing with imprezas and well most Japanese cars is people who mod them and thrash them and don't service them or anything meaning you get a pile of rubbish that fails on you
That's all my parents are worried about. I especially dad being a mechanic and seeing stuff like that everyday
