STI LIB at standard level
Default Just another liberty...

Hi guys, picked up this 07 liberty GT a few months back for the missus as she was in need of a new daily. We've put it through its paces & are pretty impressed with it for a stock car, although mods are definitely on the cards in the near future to wake it up a little!

Now for the n00b questions...

- when I get a verso tune, will Idrive still be fully functional or will it be like any other tuned car, having one mode?
- if I were to put a cat-back exhaust on it, would I need a tune immediately? What about a full exhaust??
- without running into reliability issues, what else would I want to get for it before a tune to make the most out of it? Exhaust, boost control solenoid, air/oil seperator, verso and?? Thinking of going E85 if it becomes more readily available on the pump, but at this stage it will stay on U98.

Here's how it currently sits. Put a set of China's finest wheels on it & a set of coilovers as well. Brand of coilies escapes me at present, but they did the trick nicely & made it sit a little nicer.

I mode is simply a different throttle map. No change except its more powerful.

Exhaust means tune although less likely to cause damage with cat back. be careful with full exhausts as many foul the steering knuckle causing vibrations via the steering wheel.

RE tune nothing really needed to make more reliable but I have a brand new OAS if you want one. $150 and it's yours and it's one that connects directly to the Oil intake. No special tools needed to open and close. A better BCS can help but is only truly useful if you make it's operation 3 port v 2 port which WILL mean a new tune as waste control solenoid maps needs to be reduced to approx 30%. A new TMIC will help with keeping things cool as new tune will mean more boost.

If you use E85 you will need a bigger fuel pump and bigger injectors.

Who put the Brembo's on?

I hope that's a manual.

Look at my or Scary's build threads for further info. All the best.

Cheers guys, just finished reading your build thread from start to finish GTB LIBERTY! Got some good info from it

How do I tell the difference between a STI lib & tuned by STI lib? It has factory Brembos, STI boot lip, sti lower front lip, 18" enkei's, STI pink springs with Bilstein struts & a sunroof if that makes a difference...

Build number on engine cover would confirm. Otherwise call Subaru dealership and quote VIN to confirm.
