Hi everyone,

Just like to introduce myself as a "new" member to the forum. My name is Richard Gaze. I actually have a bit of history with Perth WRX as I was the person who actually created the original Perth WRX yahoo egroup and built that up along with a few core members such as WRXRW and others. Over time, others such as WRXRW carried the torch for the forum and really put the energy into it which over time along with others has led to what it is today.

A few pictures tell a story which may jog a few memories with the older crew. I owned an MY98 WRX from 2000-2003, which with the number plate 398 WRC and was referred to by some as "RG5", a throwback to the RB5 special edition Impreza from the UK. Pictures of this car are below. This was done up to look like a V4 STI but had all the usual desirable bolt on mods, including a Link ECU tuned by Race Torque which I acquired from WRXRW after he moved on to Motec.

Regrettably I sold that car in 2003 after I bought a house. Then I got distracted with getting married and having two kids. During those years, I acquired a 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 which I have been doing up since 2005 and still have.

Fast forward to 2014 and recently I have had the urge to get another car to tinker (mainly because the 911 is essentially finished with nothing else to do) with and discussions with my wife led me to get another WRX. Originally I was looking for a 98 to do up, but things escalated and my new car is a white MY00 Version 6 STI, see pictures below.

So, a Subaru has come back home and now I am back and looking forward to reconnect with some friends from the past and like-minded newer members.

ps. if anyone knows the whereabouts of my car I'd love to hear about it. In its last incarnation before I sold it I removed the STI stickers and fitted the original My98 spoiler- see last two pics (I fitted the gold rims before selling it)
