Default New on here! need advice with startup mods.

hey guys, my name is Bhavit im 19 and drive a wrx bug eye. at first i was never a fan of the bug eye but it has definitely grown on me, and is possibly my favourite wrx. ive had it for about a year now and i dont really know where to start with the mods. The other day i was driving and saw another bug with the plates "Bug n out" possible one of the cleanest bugs ive ever seen. if anyone knows of him, id love to get in touch with the guy. cheers

If you're going to aim, you may as well aim high.

welcome aboard mate and enjoy the stay. Post up a picture of your bugeye too when you get a chance. The owner of bug n out had a thread here. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/members/bug+n+out.html

Welcome Bhavit

Best place to start modding would be your suspension!
22mm front sway bar and a 24mm rear, some HD endlinks along with some
progressive rate springs or coilovers, and you will eliminate most of the
dreaded body role.

Agree with suspension mods, i would go coilovers first, then rear sway bar(im a fan of the 19mm front, but its driving style dependant)
Then get good pads and tyres.
Once its safe, then chase the power dragon.

Replace all fluid if u can, check timing belt and spark plug if possible. U never know how previous owner treated the car.

Agree on sway bar, maybe lower spring (not king spring imo). Get good tyre when current one wears out. Maybe tbe and tune later, if nothing wrong with the car

+1 for coilovers, my bug was a boat before Mao threw some STD's in it, thicker sway bars also helped. Decent pads, rotors, dot 4 brake fluid and maybe braided lines will make it a demon stopper, no need to go to brembo's IMHO. Exhaust of course, many options there. Have a look at my photo album for ideas:

Replace Idlers, Tensioner, Water Pump, Thermostat along with the timing belt. Make sure the radiator is in good condition aswell. Maintenance is most important. Then start mods!

Welcome mate,

As the others have said, give it a good going through if unsure of previous history. There are numerous build threads on here with many different approaches so read and gain as much knowledge as you can. It will all help when approaching workshops to get work done if you have a good idea of what you wish to achieve.
