Greetings
Hi all,
I'm not Australian but have spent 5 university years in Perth so it kinda feels like a second home. I have a 2013 GR sti and decided to join this forum as the information here would be more applicable to my Asian Domestic Market car as well. So far I have installed an AOS, mudflaps and a set of Defi's waiting to be installed at the end of the year. I've started looking at catback system but here is where I get confused. After some research I have to either go full JDM turboback or USDM turboback due to the different downpipe length between the JDM and USDM aftermarket, however at this stage I am only interested in getting a catback, the Tomei titanium single tip to be exact. Does anyone know if I were to purchase any USDM catback system, will it bolt on without any issue on the stock downpipe, car is rhd with ej257 too so I have no idea the stock downpipe on my car is JDM or USDM length but rallysportdirect cant confirm fitment. Thanks Last edited by tastetickles; 05-08-2014 at 11:38 PM. |

Welcome. My 2cs is since jdm is ej207, so the length is different to 257. Urs would be usdm, but if u get usdm turboback (lhd), it might not fit, since the steering column would hit the pipe. Tomei catback is great, but why not quad outlet?

Sadly the 2 quad tip catback that I like is the HKS and the Blitz which is imo overpriced and being JDM I would have to get the accompanying dump pipe. |

Thanks for the link. Its weird Tomei produced 2 versions of the same catback but only one version of dumppipe.

Tomei Expreme Ti Titanium Catback Exhaust Subaru Sedan WRX 2008-2015 / STI 2011-2015 440018 at RallySportDirect.com
I bought this and just installed last week, easy to install on a hoist. USDM option for the 2.5L. Very happy with it. Not too loud on idle or cruising, but opens up to a nice rich throb when u put ur foot down. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/general-...s-40-rs40.html

I have seen hks catback fitted to ej257 with certain dump pipe, if u r keen will find the brand for u when I get home.
Otherwise, maybe get a ultrex or xforce turboback and weld a titanium tip on it. Should be a cheapest way. using the Perth-WRX mobile app
