You've mistaken level headed people who don't take well to tasteless and/or stupid people as trolls. Given you have quite a tasteful car and don't seem to have exhibited much in the way of stupidity, that might be why you haven't seen any 'trolling'.

So serious question, then... I do want to take it out on the track eventually, but would probably feel safer if I knew a bit more about how to handle the car better. Does anybody recommend doing any driver courses? Or do I just track it and get a feel for it so to speak.

RAC days are good for learning.
Skid pan for the lower speed stuff and long track for the higher speed.
