Hi Guys,

I'm new and found this forum to be very helpful.

The Situation:
I have noticed a few of the little lights on my rear spoiler brake light are blown.
(98 WRX Sedan)
I pulled the unit off the spoiler and can see it looks like a sealed unit.
I asked myself , "should i have a crack at opening it up and doing some mods to make it serviceable" .. maybe. I searched for a possible aftermarket version but couldn't find anything so i done the unthinkable and called Subaru and asked for a quote on a replacement unit and was quoted $520.00 OMG.

Questions:
1. Is there an aftermarket version out there that is reasonably priced.
2. Has anyone had a crack to open up one, and replace the , what looks like LED bulbs? I couldn't find anything on this forum about it, but if there is a thread, please point me in the right direction.
