Yeah, IDK if he comes here but i dident want to go into details, but yeah that is the same info i got, he had lost his job and needed cash for bills/the other car he had.

if he kept it, it properly would have ended up as a streeter.

I have no intention of this, its defiantly getting thrashed, if it proves itself on the farm race race track, ill look at entering other autocross/autokana events. Ive been out an entered an event at bormsa before, that was fun, so defiantly will take the Subaru if it holds up.

Little update.

Orderd replacement silicon joiners, they required the removal of about half the plastic IC pipe, but make putting the IC on a million times easier.

Found some wonderfull wiring job. This is the coil pack connector, thats been extended for the bosh coils. Other three were fine, this was just wraped around with tape....not my cup of tea, so i cleaned it up.

The rear has a Lsd but is verry lose. I wanted to weld up a rear diff, but ended up finding another Lsd unit. I tore down both and made one with double shims, the lsd is quite tight now...

Picked up the forester rims n tyres from another member, awdmoke..cheers.
Wipe over n fresh top coat of paint, will be perfect for the farm.

Thats about it for now.
Going to look for a rad pipe kit, one of the bottom small hoses is corroded on the inside, with a pinhole leak that appears when shes warm, back to ebay i guess...

Did not get alot done over last weekend.

Changed ECU with another RS one. Car did the same silly high idle thing. Checked the error codes and instead of throwing the 3-4 codes the other ecu would do, it only did one.

This was the code for the tps'd idle circut. I tested it with the multi meter and it was all seemingly within spec. Changed the TPS and the car idled perfect straight away....but still had an error code 'unexpected tps input' so a new error.

this new tps tested ok, but dident have the range of the other one (manual says its meant to go down from 4.5v to roughly 1v) this only goes down to 2.5v.

i gave up on that decided id try and pull them apart another time.

I got a sheet of tinted perspex and glued+pop-rivited it onto the roof. From a distance it looks good, up close its not to pretty - but it functional and water proof, so its great in my books.

with the sunroof replaced, i was actually able to mount the cage...so thats all bolted in properly now.

got some bucket seats from a GC8 (i think?) and put them in along with some rubber on the floor as the carpets long gone

put the fire exstingusher behind the seats and mounted up the surge tank. I still havent got the pump. Im waiting for a secondhand 040 to come up, otherwise ill pull the 040 out of the other car and use it in here...it will all work out one day.

Once the pump and fuel system is sorted ill get a panel to block the boot from the rest of the car and seal up the holes, making sure they are two separate spaces.

Thats all for now
its getting pretty close to go time!
AWDmoke and Top-Deck like this.

Glad the ECU pointed something out. Keep it man, not worth anything to me (or next time we meet up somewhere, buy me a pint)

Does it have to be a Bosch 040? I'm pulling out my 255lph Walbro soon (GSS 342) if you're interested

It's really starting to look like a serious rally car.
Good work!

Hey - it has to be an external type pump, the mounting brackets a bosch type...so it makes it easier. the gss342 is in tank only, cheers for the offer but it no good for me.
