Default Gc8 wrx 2000

Hey guys,

New to this forum thought id say gday!
a bit about myself...
26 years old n just bought a wrx which im pretty stoked about. I have another car which is a jeep wrangler unlimted but needed to mix it up as it isn't the most fun thing to drive.
I bought the rex unlicensed a couple weeks back and in the process in getting it ready for the Pits.
not a whole lot was required n I was lucky enough to have a check list from the previous owner attempting to get it through.

joined the forum to source parts locally, learn more about the car and see other peoples cars who are equally as passionate.

Cheers

Rhys

Welcome aboard, and congratulations on buying a classic WRX!
How much did you pick it up for? Whats needed to get it registered? And have you got a couple of pics you could throw up?

I picked it up for $3250, fortunately for me the kid was desperate to sell.
he had receipts for complete engine change out 4 months ago which cost him a little under $7000, poor bugger.

according to the inspection sheet he had it needs the following;

- 1 rear cv boot (i have the part and fitting this weekend)
- standard BOV fitted (also have the part just needs fitting)
- brake, fog and headlight globes (done)
- Gear knob secured (done)
- Bonnet rod (done)
- window washers fitted (Done - missing because he got the bonnet wrapped)
- two tyres a bit bold on the sides (chasing a set of rims)
- clutch and brake pedals need new rubbers (done)

so yeah not a lot to go all basic things so should be up and running within the month hopefully

A good purchase. I think he still has it listed on Gumtree, as I was looking at it this morning. It needs the roof resprayed too, yeah?

Ouch. Sounds like you got a good deal there. And enjoy your new car... I'm sure it'll be a lot more fun to drive than the Jeep

Yeah roof is a bit weathered so I bought some carbon fibre wrap and will redo bonnet and roof myself.
