Default New member and help with transport.

Hello All

Congrats on a great site.

I have been reading the forum for a couple of weeks while I organise my new car. I have a 98 Silver Edition WRX Hatch coming over from Melbourne in a couple of weeks. I wish it was ready for the down south cruize as I would have been in on that for sure. Sounds like you all have a lot of fun.

Well I am new to the whole Subaru scene but have been part of SilviaWA club for a few years. Before anyone asks I have not fully defected as am not getting rid of the S13 vert. I have attached a pic of the WRX as well as the S13 (Sorry if that offends anyone)

I have a question, I still need to get the WRX over and have had a few quotes from various transport compaies. I am leaning towards Autotrans at $1076. Most other companies are about the same price. Anyone else had any experiance getting a car over. If so please post details.

I also need to get all the stock parts over (exhaust, rims & tyres and airbox) plus a turbo and front mount IC kit. Any ideas. I was thinking maybe bus transport to keep the costs down. The car transport companies don't allow anything inside the car. (Its a pitty as it will save a heap of money) If you know of any that will let me please post or pm.

In regards to licensing - which center is the best. The car should be completely stock when it goes over and I am having a RACV check Monday to confirm everything is tip top with the car. The Welshpool centre is the closest to home but I normally pay at the Midland branch as it is close to work.

Sorry about the long post.

Hope to see you at the monthly cruises and gatherings.

Regards

Kelly

Transport companies say that, but what they are trying to get at, is dont fill it to the brim so they cant get into it to drive it. Also they wont take responsibility if anything out of it gets stolen.

I have transported heaps of cars up north and over east and its fine. Just dont go stupid.

black gc8 wagon ? orsm ! havent seen too many of them around ! I had my car trucked over for $1100 with TNT. pretty average price i think. most others were around the same. just make sure u give it a good inspection when it gets back to make sure theres no extra scratches/marks
