Talking just got my first WRX

hi all. been wanting a wrx for a while, never seemed to have one come up when I was in the market for a car. tried the usual supra/skyline/300zx/V8 falcodoor stuff. love my old beetles aswell. anyways a 95 WRX came up at the right price (cheap) unlicensed and with a clacking noise in the engine. so I bought it. got a temporary permit and drove it the 50 ks from Albany to mt barker hoping it would make it.. it not only made it but by the time I got it home the noise had stopped. seems to be a dodgy lifter. so now the fun of fixing it for the pits begins. looks like I'll need a whole exhaust. new rocker cover gaskets a driver seatbelt as it isn't retracting the best and a steering wheel. the leather on the nardi is fingered. I guess once I really get into it the list will multiply alarmingly haha. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...0&l=3a7526f24f

and not for sale at the moment. got gaskets coming and going to do the obvious things and see what they pick at the pits. also the regoed one decided it doesn't want to turn off the park lights so gets a flat battery if I don't pull the fuse.... got a road permit and drove it today. the chip and larger turbo really make it feel faster than the regoed one. once its reving that is.

The park light issue - check the switch on top of the steering column. (Yep between steering wheel and dash, its on top of the steering column plastic shroud). Its very, very common for it to be knocked/flicked in error, and it causes the park lights to remain on even when the car is off.

and we have a winner. I now feel like a stooge. I assumed that switch was the hazard lights. Me thinking oh great the hazards dont work either..... haha.
