Hey Guys,

I have finally found my dream car, it's a 1998 Subaru WRX, needs a little work, but otherwise in perfect condition.
It's completely stock standard so I want to get an exhaust tip because I want to hear that amazing Subbie rumble

How ever I am having trouble finding information about my car

The Build date is September 1998 the Licensed date in Australia is October 1998 and the model is GC8GK8D, which when I google search tells me the car is an MY99 and a special model in the UK?

From what I found the information is like this

G=impreza
C=sedan
8=2.0 litre 4WD
G=1999
K= ????? (don't know) -there is usually a door number here i.e 2, 4 or 5
8= WRX
D= 5 gear Manual Transmission -(5MT) (center deff 4WD) DOHC EGI turbo

the 'K' seems to be the missing part of the puzzle

What I also discovered is that the GC8GK8D is a UK classic code for an..

RB5 !!

This is not an RB5

So, I am just really asking is if anyone here would know what my manufactures year would be? Also for insurance purposes and so that I can order correct parts for the car, as MY99 parts are everywhere and MY98 aren't.

Any information would help guys Cheers

Also.... any advise on an exhaust tip for the car would be greatly appreciated, just looking for the sound, not the performace

Thank you guys

Great looking car. Definitely looks like a 99.

Thanks, Kremer that's good to know

I start researching exhaust options for a MY99, but there's a lot on my list before I get to that :P
