Without hearing it, it could potentially be a number of things but, I think it's safe to assume the damage is terminal, meaning a new motor is the only way forward. Not worth rebuilding IMO.

First of all, was the car purchased privately or through a dealership? If the latter, I would be going down there straight away to plead your case if the purchase date falls within the stat warranty period (cant remember how many months).

I doubt anyone intentionally sold you a car with a fkd motor, it's just a combination of bad timing and bad luck. These things do happen unfortunately.

If purchased privately, you're going to have to take it on the chin I'm afraid. I would get some quotes for the supply/install of a turbo motor and box for sure. Given you are posting on a performance forum it would make sense that that would be the direction you would prefer to go down.

Nauli is selling an epic motor in the for sale section that may be of interest to you.

Good luck,

Shaun

1) go to mechanic
2) get proper diagnosis
3) discuss options
4) decide on option that best suits budget/situation

I blacked out when I realised I also live in a northern subbarb.

Try Mick @ Japline or Jim & Jarrod @ BlueStar mobile, they are both northerners too.
