Smile 2015 STI owner who knows nothing.

Hey everyone,

I've just bought a 2015 sti not so long ago, really low kms, fully stock. It's not daily driven as I want to keep them kms down and keep it looking pretty.

Anyways, I know next to nothing about cars but want to modify my car in the near future. Thats why I'm here, to learn and meet new people who would lend a helping hand.

Thanks a lot (pics will come soon)

Welcome, we all start somewhere!

- Full turbo back exhaust (Invidia, X-force, Tomei etc.)
- Intake, there a pro's and con's to adding one of these.
- Tune - See Tokyo Motorsports threads on this forum for more info or send Dan a PM. Tuned my sti, can't fault it. Will need a tune after adding the above so factor it all in one go.

Depending on where you live an E85 tune might be the way to go considering you don't plan on using it as a daily. I am sure the fuel system will need attention but I personally can't speak from experience on this one.

TMS do meets at their workshop every now and then, have never been to one as I live in Kal but I have heard great things about them. Might pay to join in on the next one.

Awesome. Thanks for all the info. Had planned those mods but wasn't sure if it was safe to stop there (in regards to getting more supporting parts).
Thanks for the referral, will definitely check out Tokyo Motorsports

Proceed with caution and do not get locked in to an Ecutek tune
There are many options out there these days and check out the Cobb Tuning platform under.

The Invidia exhaust are very good quality, but personal sound is different to every one

Sounds dumb but I honestly thought ECUtek was the only way to go in Aus cos that's all I've come across over here. Have you got the accessport?
nd yeah, defs going to go with invidia.

It's being used and marketed by a LOT of people so it's very popular which is probably why you see and hear about it everywhere. I picked the tuner/workshop and was happy to run the software they elected to use so the whole "locking ecu" nonsense never really phased me and it still doesn't.

I didn't think the cobb accessports ever really took off in aus?

They're starting to now as they have apparently been working with a workshop over east with regards to the Australian ECU's, fuel, etc. I still wouldn't touch one.

Proceed with caution and don't take everything you hear on forums as being gospel.
Talk to some reputable workshops, weigh up what they have to say, what they can offer and what they charge....but do consider experiences people have reported on forums, then make a choice. Don't get sucked into going from one workshop to another and playing one off against the other.
There are at least 5 reputable Subaru workshops in Perth from which to choose....
Top-Deck and Mcclacker like this.

Glad they're making their way over. I just saw a 2016 wrx/sti with an accessport for sale on carsales. Would've loved to get the owners insight on this.
