Default Yeti sled

Hey all. Think its about time I put up a little gallery/journal of my Forester, And introduction for myself. Ive been a member for like 5yrs now. But only just started using the forum more lately.

Im a professional auto electrician by trade, and have done all the work on the car myself. Minus the engine assembly and tune.

Anyways. The car is a 2004 built MY05 AUDM Forester XT. I bought the car back around 2009, and have slowly been building it into a potent weapon. I never really had a clear end-goal with the car, and have spent lots of time and money on redoing and upgrading previous upgrades over the years. Its my first modified car. If I was doing a build like this again, I would certainly do things differently. But hindsight changes things.

i have a very long winded build journal over on 'ozfoz' if you wanted to read the whole thing. OzFoz.com • View topic - Bram's XT - RD3 WA Spint Championship.

Currently, the car has a FULL STI swap. Driveline is a 2007 JDM 6spd, with a Exedy Carbon D twin plate. DSS carbon fiber driveshaft. Cusco RS LSD in an R180 diff. Full 5x114.3 hubs and shafts aswell. 6pot willwoods upfront and 2pot brembos at back. All 4 disc rotors are multi piece for weight savings. All crossmembers are swapped to STi for strength and geometry changes. And I have removed the forester body spacers. Every, mount, bushing, joint etc has been upgraded.

The front control arms are Spec C forged alloys. The rears are Ikeya formula race arms. I have a fe550 quickrack up front. And the coils are Tein Monoflex. 22mm sways front and rear. (have a 25mm front ready to go) Every single joint in the suspension has been swapped to spherical metal hiem joints, except the LCA transverse bushings, which are Whiteline motorsport castor adders.

I have used every trick in the book to add castor to the front geometry. And I have even invented some new tricks along the way too. Currently has around 8.5 degrees castor. Which is massive for an SG forester.

It has pretty much every body brace you can get, and even some I built myself.

Wheels and tyres. It has a set of cheap Gmax drif- 6 17x8, wrapped in hankook z221 semi slick Rcomps.

The interior is stripped bare inside. Front seats are GRB STi limited all leather. Cluster, center panels, airbags etc are all STi. I have a DAMD D wheel to steer with. All audio has been removed. A/C has been removed.

The outside is a genuine JDM STi Forester body kit, and I have pretty much all the super rare optional extras like C/F fog surrounds, optional STi side skirts, and extra big rear pods, alternative grille. (last 3 still need painting and fitting). Ive gone to the extra trouble of slim line sti roof rails and even converted to genuine JDM HID headlights. The exterior is all STi. The early SG STi is rare, from VIN numbers, it appears that less than 2000 were built. Although this is a replica/reshell. Im still very proud to be the owner of it. Is something very special to me.

The engine... Unfortuantly early on, i had a throttlehappy tune, it ended with a melted piston and tears. So i had the engine built up. Its a late model ej257 block, nitrated OEM crank, CP pistons, manly rods, OEM forester ej255 heads with kelford cams, BC springs and retainers. Supertech valves. Moroso Sump, cosworth 12mm oil pump wheels. Stechnic assembled it for me.

Breathing is handled by a custom CAI, silicone bits, blouch billet wheel td05-18g-xt turbo. (a bit too small i think, but its whats on there currently) Process West TMIC, EL headers, Xforce catless dump, to hitech 3inch muffler. It originally had 3 Cat converters in it. I went to a hi flow metal cat, But i literally blew this out the tailpipe while shooting flames with the Bee*R 2 step. Now that its a track car, It doesnt have any cats. I also removed the B*R because it was a counterfeit item and didnt function correctly.

Fueling is all e85, via 1000c IDs, topfeed conversion, rails, TGV deletes, turbosmart FPR1200, custom hoses etc etc etc. Will soon be getting a radium surge tank with walbro 450lph pump.

Its Tuned by Sean at ASG. And once the surge tank is in, itll be getting booked in for a tweak up. Currently has 243kw at wheels. Not a massive number, but its stupid responsive due to the td05. Accelerator pedal is like a on/off switch for instant power. My only gripe there is I wish it had more top end. Should have gone a bigger turbo, bigger cams, and some head porting. Oh yeah, and I seriously hate the JDM 2.0L 6spd, should have hunted harder for a AUDM 2.5L 6spd. Damn close ratio is annoying.

Anyways. thats the bulk of the mods. Im sure Ive missed out a few here and there.

Heres some random pornographic pics.

What's your gearbox code do you know? I have a JDM 6 speed, and I don't find it too bad, compared to the very lazzzzy MY01 5 speed.

Mine is EA-TY856WB2GA, which is allegedly:

JDM Impreza WRX STi RA Spec C MY02
(also S202) TY856WB2GA 3.636 2.375 1.761 1.346 1.062 0.842 3.900 Viscous* A.P.*Suretrac w/*external*
transmission*cooler

Seen you at RAC a few times with your old man. Really nice car.
