Agree with V3 RA, the OEM brakes are fine. TBH I'm mostly motivated by wanting to fill the epic void between my Rims and my rotors. Some improvement in braking would be good though.

So in other words your ok with your current brakes but if you could get a good enough gain in stopping power you would upgrade ?

Hell I even pounded wanners on 2 pot gtb brakes with no issue. Fluid and pads are as, if not more important than caliper and rotor combo.

If it makes my car stop quicker therefore making it safer, I'd say that justifies it plenty

When are you fitting a roll cage, bubble wrap and a full fire system to your car? Safety being number 1 behind any mods you do would surely mean these are the priorities also?
Stopping quicker could cause you to be rear ended, thus introducing a risk removed by eliminating another. With ABS and a big hit on the brakes, I severely doubt there would be much difference between stock GD 4/2 combo and Brembos. However, throw good fluid and 500 bucks of pads in the 4/2 setup would shit on the brembos.

The Targa car is running the original 16" alloys and at one time might have looked like this:

In my opinion, the most important thing is for brakes to be proven under extreme conditions. Why brembos are so popular is because of number of cars that have used them and their budget for r&d.
Last thing you want is a part of your braking system failing. Happened to me once with braided lines which were not the same length as the OEM and so it rubbed on the rim. With brakes, either good proven quality parts or OEM. Kido brakes might be exceptional quality though, I'm definitely not dismissing them. Adi Adi |
