I'm not sure I understand this whole "she wasn't voted in" shit I keep hearing.

Last election it was known she would be prime minister if Labor won.

People voted,

Labor won.

How was she not voted in?

1st party preferred vote the Lib / Nat coalition had a gain on the ALP. It was the independents that gave Labour power.

http://www.abc.net.au/elections/federal/2010/

ALP 72 seats (5.4% swing against)
Coalition 73 seats
Greens 1 seat
Ind 4 seats.

Yes I am aware of that.

But people voted for the independents who gave power to Labor.

She said there would be in carbon tax a week before the election....need I say more...lies lies and more lies have followed. Mismanagement and waste is the highlights for our so called government. New example surfaces today...cancelled tv tender costs tax payers millions. Need more examples?

Yes, because you did not answer my question.

How was she not voted in?

I fully agree about the lies and bullshit that has followed, but in my view she is in the postion of power as a direct result of an election where people voted.

Obviously the ALP is legitimately in gov as a result of the election however "Peoples" votes had indicated a swing away from Labour and the Coalition had the upper hand. It was the Independents that did the deals behind closed doors to their own advantage in what seems contrary to the wishes of the tally room. This is what people refer to as not voting the ALP in. However the same could be said if the Libs got in with Independent support. It seems the Independents sold out. A hung parliament might have lead to a better conclusion.

You tick multiple boxes, those boxes go towards one party or the other.

Those selected parties then have a a big piss up party and sleep with each other, they wake up the next day and hey they have a new partner!

Your vote helps but its all B.S.

People are dumb - people vote based on what an advert on TV tells them.

So you agree that Gillard was elected then?

There was nothing unusual about the election process. Everything went as per standard operating procedure and the result was Gillard won.

Hence, she is the elected Prime Minister voted in by the Australian public.
