As you can see from the number of signatures on the petition, this is a pretty big issue that the Libs need to deal with. I'm all for saving money, but not at the expense of progress.

Only problem with that and any of this is that Australia is already so far behind the majority of the world technology wise, an advance for us is something that's already been achieved elsewhere and is now obsolete, Australia is forever trying to catch up. It's annoying to be honest.

Most of the rest of the world doesn't have to deal with the distances involved here - which is why there will never really be true parity...
