Which CAMS club to join?
So I like the look of IWRXOC for the tech support and monthly meetings but WASCC membership looks good for the sheer number of events and track access to be had though it is expensive to buy.
Which clubs have you joined and whats the social scene like with them? How many driving events do they hold? |

No Limit Events are great. Do it!

Barbagello is a fair drive for me, otherwise I would probably join the WASCC.
I joined the Mini Car Club WA, they only have a couple of social events, but they're cheap and also run the motorkhanas. The Southern Districts Mini Club covers the social side of things for me. Think about what you are going to get the most enjoyment & use from. If you intend doing a fair bit of track work, then the WASCC becomes worthwhile.

Yeah the no limits events look good but I believe they are run seperately from the usual Barbagello tuning days hence the higher entry fee.
I really want to get in to doing a consistent number of timed events so the WASCC membership looks good for that as they hold a lot of regularity events and hillclimbs. Its flipping expensive to join though especially when you lob $100 worth of L2S on top. The social side is important to me to...it would be nice to see a familiar face / helping hand at most events and to be able to do things with thr group outside of motorsport. |

I'm a member of iwrxoc, its cheap enough and they subsidies the events they do run, eg the skidpan day i did on the weekend was $65 but people are charging up to $100 these days for a single skid pan. Also the Evo vs WRX series is cool.

+1 for iwrxoc.
Events are cheap, frequent enough and run well / on time etc....

IWRXOC. Covers most of what you're looking for and its only 60 bucks to join. Its a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of doing consistant motorsport events.

I take it this is obviously a yearly fee? Would be keen on this once i get my car into a good position for motorsport events which is fairly soon.

Yep its an annual fee. IWRXOC do it pro-rata so if you join later in the years its less money. Join now though and you get the full 12 months for your $60.
If you want a CAMS L2s license for doing hillclimbs and what not then thats about $100 these days. |

+ 1 IWRXOC.
I joined when i had my STi. Found all the folk to be good value and the club puts on some great events. The monthly meets are run very well and there is plenty of info to be soaked up . If i still had a Subaru, i'd still be there. |
