Burke, what was your previous best? Do you reckon the new ratios or the decent diff(s) helped much?

Hey Doug,
My previous PB was 59.20 so its made an awesome difference.
The ratios made a big difference between Shell corner, the hairpin and the section that brings you back onto the straight. With the 5 speed the car seemed to have to labour a bit to pull through but now it just rips through the gears and doesn't get bogged down.
The diffs make all the difference in the same section also ( well its the most obvious ) with little to no inside wheel spin, especially the hairpin. I was getting some great " slingshot " effect through the corners which felt great.
Previously getting the power to the ground was an issue...
As you predicted the car can now get a little " rear end happy ", especially coming off the hill and onto pit straight. Is nice!!
Once again thanks for your help
If anyone can be arsed. Last lap was the fastest.

Still some room for improvement...

haha, after Collie WRX v EVO weekend where I was about a second off I thought I might struggle also. We only got a total of about 10 hot laps at Collie so not really enough time to learn it. I got my best at Barbs on lap 23 of 30 odd so it takes a bit of time.

Burke- you said your last lap was fastest... it appears that you were using a little more of the track that last lap, resisting the urge to turn in as quickly, coming wider out of corners etc... perhaps work on these lines and you'll shed a little more. Otherwise looked pretty smooth mate.

How much overall power to you have btw??

Yeah mate, the last lap was my fastest. With the 6sp came two new diffs which added to the trial and error of turn in points. You can hear some tentativeness in some of the acceleration out of the corners ( bit pokey ) even on my fastest lap so it is by no means as smooth as it could be.
Hopefully be able to piece it together on the 10th Dec
The bus makes 195kw on MMS dyno

Great feedback mate, as I am just about to embark upon the same 6 speed surgery.

I'd recommend a tuning arvo or something up there that is not competetive. That way you can just play around, make some mistakes and 'learn' about where to be tentative and when not to be. Even more of a bonus if you have your own timing gear or get a friend to spot you etc. All the best though!

No limits is a great place to test things out with some good instuctors also.
IWRXOC days are great also so check their calender.
Last time I looked at the No Limits site there wasn't any dates for '10
