Was a good weekend, although I'm taking my Liberty down next year as the RS Clio sucks on rough dirt roads. Makes an STI feel limo smooth.

Which is why we take the 'cruiser, and it runs a 12v oven for the pies for lunch!

Very impressed with the sharpness as well. Can I ask what body and lens you used?

Jeckle 02-04-2012 10:26 PM

Body is a canon 7D, lens is either a 100-400mm ef 4.5-5.6 is L series lens, or an efs 15-85 is lens. I also use shutter priority between 1/200 to 1/320 of a second, iso is auto. Most were taken using the L lens, but the one with Leigh Hynes and the chopper was the other lens and cropped a bit. (Needed to use this lens for another shot in the same sequence as he came round the same corner that saw Anderson and Searcy run the ragged line thanks to a flat tyre).

I prefer to drop a bit below 1/200 for panning shots, but as these have a degree of forward motion I've used a slightly higher shutter speed.

Leigh Hynes on Brockman 1, showing why he is the current 4WD WA rally champ.

(needs some decent drive shafts and not to cut when instructed not to cut!)

Someone should tell Doug, yellow and green should not be seen!

It's blue and green that should never be seen.

Green and yellow (gold) are Aussie national colors!
